General: Current Masters of Research (MRes) student at Macquarie University, focusing on laser physics, specifically Raman Lasers. Current GPennsylvania from my MRes is 3.5/4. Looking into transferring to the aerospace field after my MRes, which may include undertaking a PhD at ADFA (UNSW Canberra) within their engineering department. Ultimately, would be looking at areas where laser physics and aerospace overlap, or propulsion/rocket engineering. Research areas: - Summer Research 2018-19: Laser spectroscopy project at ADFA (UNSW Canberra) (ongoing until end of Feb 2019) - Unit Research Topic (selected by myself) 2018: 3D printed PLA surface post processing for optically flat surfaces (summary: optically flatness was not attained, but surface processed to be 'optically flat' for all tel comm bands (surpassing 300 GHz)), surface flatness probed using an optical surface profiler -Unit Research Topic 2018: mobile phone speckle contrast imaging of fluid flow (Summary: demonstrated it is possible to use a mobile phone to attain flowmetry data using speckle contrast imaging) -Summer Research 2016-17: quantum derived Random number generation using Raman Lasers at Macquarie University Extracurricular activities - Chairmen and co-founder of Macquarie Orbital (Orbital): student lead space program initiated by myself and several other people. Under my leadership, the group has gone from a team of five to a team of 25, plans for Orbital's ground station drawn up and purchasing of parts initiated and CubeSat project initiated, all within six months. Furthermore, the group has been represented in many conferences with links being established with inter university entities. 3D Printing: 3D printing is a personal hobby of mine. Current project involves designing, modelling (in Fusion360) and printing a miniature ground station for satellite down-linking, as well as (a potential application in) low distance range device communications. McDonalds Australia: I also have worked at McDonalds for several years, where I became a manager and worked at several different stores, including the head office store. Throughout my time at McDonalds, I learnt various skills from customer service, to crew training, quality assurance, assisted in store management, among many other skills. With my assistance and in some cases direct coordination, around 6 different records were broken at various stores, including weekly sales, single day sales, hourly sales, and McHappy day fund raising records. I was one of the top preforming members, and as a result I was chosen to present the (at the time) new ‘Create Your Taste’ burger range to food bloggers, was featured in several internal McDonald's training videos, and also came top 8 (nationally) for the 2017 scholarship for future leaders.
