Lowell Thompson is a Podcast Host and Producer who does outstanding work. Above is his most recent episode and below is an introduction to this hard working guy.
“My name is Lowell, and I am the host of this show: Learning with Lowell. I grew up on a farm outside of Rockford, IL and went to college at Northern Illinois University where I majored in Neuroscience. I have conducted research and presented it at conferences, been the president of clubs, and been mentor for transfer students looking to make their way in the world.
It was at NIU where I developed a serious medical condition that put me in the ER/ICU over the last 2 years of my college career. It was extremely hard. I learned a lot about what it means to fight for what you care about and having to deal with institutions that were not the most accommodating to people with medical issues. But, I pushed through that to get my degree. I’m very happy with myself for not giving up. I eventually was able to meet the people that made the drug that gave me my life back, and that is something that I am very grateful for. It’s one of my inspirations for this podcast.
Since then, I’ve worked as a Growth Marketing Consultant to pay the bills. I am now in a position to make this podcast and get back into subjects and fields that inspire me! Namely, biotechnology and science related ones.
My goals with the podcast are to help people sitting on the fence (don’t do that) or about to get into biotech/related science field to successfully navigate their pathway to success by interviewing amazing people and covering large topics at the same time. I also want to shine a light on people doing amazing work every day to help out each and every one of us. We are in a great age of innovation. Benjamin Franklin had a quote that went, “Many people die at 25 and are buried 50 years later.” I don’t want this to happen to anyone. Let’s all work together to build a better world!”
