AGILE is seeking a Propulsion Analysis Engineer to perform design and analysis on hypergolic rocket engines and propulsion systems for use in spacecraft and space systems. This role will be responsible for predicting and evaluating the performance and reliability of AGILE’s rocket engines and propulsion components which will lead to the verification of program requirements through test analysis. AGILE has an in-house testing capability for hypergolic propulsion systems and thrusters with a state-of-the-art vacuum, temperature conditioning, and data acquisition system. The Propulsion Analysis Engineer will report to the Lead Propulsion Analyst and work closely with AGILE’s design, manufacture, and test teams.

Job Details:

  • Correlate analysis models to hot-fire and cold flow test data
  • Create detailed documentation of analysis methods, results, and measurement uncertainty
  • Participate in engine hot-fire test planning and data analysis
  • Interpret test data to understand and report thruster performance
  • Real-time test data interpretation to drive schedule over an active test session
  • Thorough data analysis to evaluate thrusters for troubleshooting and design refinement
  • Provide actionable feedback to the team to iteratively improve designs
  • Engage with the propulsion test team in instrumentation and hot-fire test operation
  • Select instrumentation for thruster testing
  • Design thruster components, fluid systems, and tooling for test and assembly
  • Design and perform laboratory tests for evaluation of thruster hardware


  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years of experience in the propulsion industry or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering
  • Experience modeling and analyzing data from combustion devices or supersonic fluid systems
  • Experience and knowledge in the design and analysis of liquid rocket engines and their fluid systems
  • Must be a US Citizen or permanent residentx

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience managing large test datasets
  • Experience with SolidWorks, MATLAB, LabVIEW, CEA, WinPlot, and Python
  • Experience operating complex laboratory or test equipment
  • Experience performing multi-disciplinary mechanical, thermal, and fluid analysis in ANSYS on rocket components
