Located in Durango, CO, AGILE Space Industries designs, builds, and tests in-space propulsion systems for satellites and spacecraft. AGILE uses state of the art 3D metal alloy printing techniques to rapidly design, manufacture, and test new engine designs in our purpose-built propulsion test facility. With over a decade of experience testing rocket engines, and engineers who have worked at industry leaders like Blue Origin, SpaceX, NASA, and Rocketdyne, AGILE is a rapidly growing company with many exciting Defense, Civil and Commercial programs.

Description:

AGILE is seeking a Propulsion Test Engineer who will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and operating propulsion test facilities at AGILE’s test site located in Durango, Colorado. In this role, you will be a key member of a team driving test operations of propulsion systems intended for in-space missions. You will work closely with a cross-functional team consisting of Propulsion Engineers, Test Engineers, Software Engineers, and technicians to establish new test capabilities and to apply existing test facilities to programs ranging from prototyping through qualification and production testing.

Job Details

  • Design, document, and implement test stand improvements and maintenance
  • Design and build new test stands to expand test capabilities
  • Support hot fire test operations as a member of the Test Operations Crew
  • Lead procedures for carrying out hazardous material handling and decontamination
  • Coordinate with the propulsion design team to ensure test configurations meet the prescribed test requirements
  • Lead the establishment of standardized processes and associated documentation
  • Instrumentation calibration, inspection, and installation
  • Assembly and inspection of propulsion systems, thrusters, and test stands

Qualifications:

  • B.S. or advanced degree in related engineering or technical field
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively in team environments
  • Strong dedication to test personnel and public safety
  • Seeks to constantly improve and optimize processes
  • High attention to detail with hardware processing and hardware safety
  • Comfort performing hazardous operations with appropriate PPE and training
  • Experience working on propulsion technologies and high-pressure systems
  • General physical fitness and dexterity, comfort in tight spaces, able to lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to work autonomously and take initiative in a high cadence environment
  • Candidate must be a US citizen or permanent resident

Preferred Skills:

  • Hands-on test facility experience (hydraulic, pneumatic, or supersonic systems)
  • Hands-on work with testing and data acquisition
  • Propulsion test facility build, maintenance, and operations experience
  • Experience working with or around with hazardous chemicals such as hydrazine and NTO

Work Schedule: 5 day/45hr Work Week
