ALT 2020 – Software development simulation infrastructure (m / f)

A work-study offer in Software Development Simulation Infrastructure (m / f) has just opened within Airbus Defense and Space at our Toulouse site. We invite you to work in a world leader company in its field, in full digital transformation, at the forefront of research and innovation. We are looking for motivated students to join us within the development team in relation to the simulator managers of the various Airbus Defense and Space programs.

You are looking for a work-study contract with a duration of 36 months in order to validate your course (BAC +5) in Engineering or Computer Science.

Job description :

You will join the “Simulation & Modeling” department which produces simulators and test benches for space systems under development. Our systems, used at different stages of the space system life cycle (design, manufacturing, verification and validation) are at the heart of many of Airbus Defense and Space’s business processes. You will work on the components of the simulation infrastructure. Our systems are based on a software product, SimTG, intended to provide a simulation infrastructure common to all our programs. It offers services: communication mechanisms between the various software components, scheduling, Human-Machine Interface (HMI), etc., making it possible to effectively develop and execute the simulation models of our satellites.

This position is available from September 2020 (date subject to flexibility).

Tasks and responsibilities:

You will be under the responsibility of a manager who will help you identify your professional goals and support you in the development of your skills.

In this context, your main activities will be:

  • Design, development and verification of software components,
  • Documentation and deployment of infrastructure components.

This position requires knowledge of the potential risks of non-compliance. The incumbent undertakes to act with integrity, the foundation of the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.

Profile sought and skills required :

You will prepare a Bac + 5 level diploma in Engineering or Computer Science and you have the following skills:

  • A first experience in software development,
  • A keen interest in the Space Professions,
  • An intermediate level in English.

You have the following skills:

  • Rigorous, curious and autonomous,
  • Endowed with a relational sense and good communication skills,
  • Ability to integrate into a team and adaptability,
  • Recognized for your organizational qualities,
  • Analysis and synthesis skills, team spirit,
  • Knowledge of project management would be a plus.

At the end of the learning cycle, you will have acquired skills in the following areas:

  • Object-oriented design, Model-driven engineering,
  • Technologies: C ++, Java, Eclipse, RCP, EMF, Git, Python, JUnit, Maven…,
  • Development methodology,
  • Operational and technical documentation,
  • Communication: technical presentations in English,
  • Industrial software development process,
  • Airbus Defense & Space working methods,
  • Space trades.

Depending on the offers, you may have to move.
