Apogee is actively seeking a full-time SIGINT Systems Engineer & Open Architecture SME to be located at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. This role will act as a liaison to the Government providing systems engineering services to assist with technology development activities that identify, analyze, evaluate, test, certify, and implement new capabilities in support of the warfighter.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Provide engineering support to the Next Generation Sensors team by monitoring Government laboratories, Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDCs), University Affiliated
  • Research Centers (UARCs), and contractor technology development efforts and assist with coordinating the transition planning of those technologies to Air Force programs of record.
  • Assist with the management of Sensors programs and the development of Open Architectures and flight testing of developing ISR sensor capabilities.
  • Provide operationally relevant systems engineer services to assist with technology development activities that identify, analyze, evaluate, test, certify, and implement new capabilities.
  • Assist with the technical management of sensor/open architecture/AI-ML development efforts within the Sensors division.
  • Support integration of ISR sensors on various platforms, and gain airworthiness certification for integrated sensor systems in support of AF development efforts.
  • Support various common ISR sensor types and integration requirements.

What you’ll need:

  • Security Clearance Required: TS/SCI
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in development/acquisition of computing equipment and software for aircraft or ISR sensor systems.
  • Knowledge of software architecture design and integration, test and qualification, and requirements management.
  • Must have specialized experience developing software using Open Architectures and C++ Software Development Kits.

Preferred Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years of relevant experience, 5 years of which in the DoD
  • Or, Master’s degree with 12+ of years of relevant experience, 5 years of which in the DoD
  • Or, 20+ years of directly related experience in lieu of a degree, 8 years of which in the DoD
