Apogee is actively seeking a full-time Senior Electrical Engineer (EMI/RADHAZ) to be located at Apogee’s Suffolk regional office. This role will support the USCG Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, and Intelligence Service Center Engineering Services Division (C5ISC), Engineering Services Division (ESD), Architecture & Standards (ASB), Spectrum Management (SM) division located in Portsmouth, VA.

What you will be doing:

  • Conduct EMI/RADHAZ studies.
  • Conduct reviews of Engineering Changes to assess any potential EMI/RADHAZ impacts to proposed changes.
  • Deploy as required to resolve reported EMI/RADHAZ issues in the field.
  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) as required for reported Coast Guard EMI Problems.
  • Liaise with DoD EMI/RADHAZ components (e.g., NAVSEA DAHLGREN) to conduct topside analysis on cutters as required.
  • Develop detailed program/project management plans including Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and draft project schedules and manage resources utilizing Microsoft Project.
  • Develop and maintain project management oversight documents describing schedule, budget, adherence to approved plans and specifications, and efficient and effective implementation.
  • Develop test plans that define the type of testing (e.g., functional, performance, usability) and the test level (e.g., unit, integration, field testing) to be performed for EMI/RADHAZ analysis.
  • Contribute to technical working groups and interchange meetings, program management review and support equipment requirements review meetings.

What you will need to have:

  • Security Clearance Required: Secret
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in an Electrical Engineering field of study from an ABET accredited college with 10+ years of engineering experience in EMI/RADHAZ analysis or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Possess experience with the following Government Furnished Equipment for conducting EMI/RADAZ analysis:NARDA Type Radiation Hazard Probes
  • HOLADAY Systems Radiation Hazard Probes
  • Bird Wattmeter
  • Spectrum Analyzers
  • RF Propagation and Cascade Analysis
  • Prior experience with federal government contracting with a preference for experience supporting
  • USCG customers onsite
