Apogee is seeking a Director of Operations – Information Technology Programs located in Colorado Springs CO, Dayton OH, Suffolk VA, Tampa FL, Washington D.C. or Huntsville, AL in support of federal government business development and technical services activities, especially focused on Department of Defense (DoD) IT support and modernization.

What you will be doing:

  • Assuming ongoing IT business development and capture management activities, and assist in the capture of additional opportunities through our IDIQ, Joint Venture, or Open Market avenues.
  • Assume full operational responsibility of select ongoing IT Programs within Apogee
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of Apogee’s broad technical services capabilities and ongoing strategy.
  • Conduct business intelligence and analysis activities to understand corporate capabilities/gaps, strategies, discriminators, and win themes
  • Serve as opportunity owner for associated contract proposals, including leading strategy sessions, pursuit/bid briefs, kickoff briefs, identifying necessary support resources, and securing bid approval from corporate leadership
  • As additional work is captured, provide transition leadership to stand up high performing, highly engaged teams of personnel.
  • Provide operations management of diverse technical services programs: Manage customer deliverables, maintain performance standards, and support personnel development and retention activities
  • Learn Apogee’s culture, how we engage with personnel and customers, and be a champion for those approaches in business development and program management activities

What you will need to have:

  • Masters Degree with 15+ years experience
  • Bachelors Degree with 20+ years experience
  • Project Management Professional certification is strongly preferred
  • ITIL certification(s) strongly preferred, with various Cloud certifications also preferred
  • At least fifteen (15) years of experience working within IT Support Services
  • At least 10 years working with US Military personnel and organizations is preferred
  • At least five (5) years leading and managing multiple IT Support Services efforts in the federal contracting space
  • Ideal candidate’s experience is primarily within defense contracting in cities where the defense industry is a recognized part of the local economy
  • Demonstrated ability to work with senior business and government leaders
  • Expert level skills in oral and written communication.
  • Top Secret (TS) security clearance required with SCI eligibility preferred
  • Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time

Benefits and Compansation

  • Apogee offers two medical plans, a high deductible health plan with a HRA and a traditional POS plan with co-pays, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, PTO, paid holidays, parental, military and jury duty paid leaves.
  • This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus.
  • Salary: Min $111,321.52 – Max: $245,680.36
