Company Details

Astroscale is the first private company with a vision to secure the safe and sustainable development of space for the benefit of future generations, and the only company dedicated to in-orbit servicing across all orbits.

This role is an exciting opportunity to join the Systems Engineering Team at Astroscale UK.

Our Spacecraft System Engineers are central to the design effort of any mission, working as the technical architect and facilitating trade-offs across the system design.

As a Spacecraft Systems Engineer you will work with the subsystem engineers and project managers, balancing the needs of the missions and guiding the technical solutions towards a feasible and achievable conclusion, therefore, you will need a good general understanding of the typical subsystems of satellite missions to perform this role.

At Astroscale, our Spacecraft Systems Engineers are involved on a mission from beginning to end.  Starting with writing bids to customers, then developing and analysing the design during the early mission phases; you will e supporting testing during AIT (and leading system testing), during the launch campaign and finally assist with in-orbit commissioning of the satellite.

It doesn’t end there though! Even after the mission is in orbit, as a Spacecraft Systems Engineer you may be called upon at critical moments during the mission to provide guidance to the operations team.
