Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

As part of the Product Engineering Configuration & Data Department, the candidate will have following responsibilities:

  • Acting as the focal Configuration and Data management expert within VEGA family Launchers to support the definition and maintenance of the project CM Processes and tools, to ensure exchange of experience and to promote some degree of standardization;
  • Contribute towards the project CADM plans and monitor CM performance (together with the Product Assurance Managers)
  • Management of configuration evolution, baselines verification, as-built control;
  • Organize Configuration Control Boards (CCBs) for the disposition of configuration change requests / proposals and RFW/RFD;
  • Notifying the CCB members and the experts/specialists for an evaluation of the change requests / proposals and manage the process up to its completion;
  • Communicating outcome of CCB to parties involved, including the Application Directive (DA);
  • Uploading customer/supplier change requests / proposals into the Change Manager System and manage their status;
  • Evaluating the Supplier Product Configuration Waiver and support PA Managers to its making;
  • Control & manage the evolution of the Project Baseline Requirements and the provision of traceability for the changes;
  • Set up and coordinate Project Reviews to ensure the availability of the Data package and manage the RID/eRID System;
  • Supporting the implementation and maintenance of adequate configuration control methods and procedures, consistent with applicable standards/requirements;
  • Provide status data and maintaining a well-structured configuration record system;
  • Assist in the preparation of project audits;


Skills & Experience

The candidate shall have the following qualifications and relevant experience:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent;
  • Several years (5+) of experience in a similar role in configuration, as well as documentation, management within an engineering environment;
  • Good communication, high level of initiative, autonomy, pro-activeness and professional maturity in order to carry out complex tasks and high level of responsibility;
  • Proficient in MS Office packages, Dassault ENOVIA, PTC Windchill PDMlink, IBM DOORS and NEXT, Eclipse/Polaris;
  • Knowledge of ESA Configuration and Documentation Management standards (ECSS);
  • Fluency in English is mandatory;
  • Knowledge of European Launch System (LS-SM) standards is an advantage;
  • Experience with ESA in the frame of Launcher/Space projects is an advantage;
  • French knowledge is an advantage.
