Overview

Axient is seeking an Avionics Engineer Senior (AFSOC – Fixed Wing Aircraft) to support our customer in Warner Robins, GA. 

Responsibilities

Duties to include, but not limited to:  

  • Provides  engineering support of  subsystem definition, development, integration, all verification methods, sustainment modeling/simulation, T&E, and AW certification across a wide range of hardware and software systems 
  • Provides advice and assistance with systems engineering, processing, including planning, analysis, , configuration management, development, integration, verification and validation, and cost risk 
  • Translates customer requirements into hardware and software specifications 
  • Works with the , development, and test teams in support of advanced software/hardware efforts 
  • Provides highly technical expertise and guidance in solving complex engineering problems 
  • Preforms in all phases of hardware development, integration/implementation, analysis 
  • Participates in hardware evaluations and develops standards and guidelines for tasks being performed 
  • Develops technical requirements based on operational scenarios, across all phases of system development (including concept exploration, , integration, test, and fielding for highly complex systems/subsystems including the generation of Tailored Airworthiness Certification Criteria (TACC) or the modification of such criteria in the Modified Airworthiness Certification Criteria (MACC). 
  • Participates in hardware evaluations and assists the Government in developing standards and guidelines for tasking being performed. 
  • Supports engineering tasks such as, but not limited to investigations and analysis, trade-off studies, quality evaluations, deficiency reports, and assistance requests. 
  • Participates in events such as, but not limited to, TIMs, PDRs, CDRs, PCAs, FCAs, FATs, and CCB/AW.  

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:   

  • Must have successfully completed an undergraduate degree with a major in engineering (e.g., electrical, mechanical, aerospace); it is “highly desired but not mandatory” that the degree be obtained from a college or university with an Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited engineering program(s).  Degrees in “engineering technology” may be considered if the candidate has a minimum of three years of experience in an Air Force or other DoD Branch program office.
  • (MA/MS) and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, 5 years of which must be in the DoD  
  • OR, BA/BS degree, and 15 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, 5 of which must be in the DoD  
  • OR, 20 years of directly related experience with proper certifications as described in the Functionally Aligned Job Descriptions, 8 of which must be in the DoD.  
  • Must have minimum of 2 years of experience of progressive experience in complex military  and/or electronic systems, such as power distribution systems, microprocessor-based systems, – networks, , and analog and digital electronics. 
  • Experience with , development, and integration of complex military  and/or electronic systems; and experience in overseeing and development of hardware projects
