Overview

Systems Engineering Group, Inc. (SEG) has a job opening for a full-time 3D CAD Modeling Designer Engineer in Suitland, MD at ONI. We are seeking enthusiastic candidates wanting a challenging career with good growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and using cutting-edge tools and techniques to meet the growing demands of missile defense system requirement specifications, design activities and test/verification
  • Generating CAD solid, meshed, facet models, and extracting and analyzing mass properties from solid models.
  • Candidate will be working within the Office of Naval Intelligence to support Level 1 and Level 2 CAD design based off the latest intelligence of assigned world-wide threats.
  • Candidate will be required to review, assess and determine key features of various weapons systems as they work to design a detailed level of understanding for the weapon system they have been designed to review.

Qualifications

Required Experience/ Education:

  • Active DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI
  • BS Mechanical/Aerospace engineering or in a relevant discipline.
  • Reporting to Suitland MD location after evaluation period in Columbia MD.
  • Entry Level (2-5 years’ experience) with SolidWorks. Experience with Pro-E/CREO and NX desirable.
  • Experience with component design from the detail level through complete complex assemblies
  • Able to identify, select and integrate a wide range of materials into designs
  • Understand and apply fundamental stress analysis techniques to components
  • Hands-on experience using finite element analysis for system/component design
  • Experience with configuration management as it applies to engineering documentation
  • Ability to work independently or on a team
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate well through written documentation and oral presentations
  • The ability to create, follow and adjust a design plan for the creation of level 1 & 2 CAD models from initial assignment to completed documentation.
  • The ability to collaborate with technical experts and subject matter experts in a creative and positive manner.

Preferred Experience:

  • Active DoD TS/SCI clearance

Must meet applicable COVID safety requirements and protocols
