Overview

Axient is seeking a Embedded Flight Software Engineer (Early Career) to support our Air Force Research Laboratory customer in Albuquerque, NM.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving day-to-day direction from software development team lead as necessary to advance flight code to space flight readiness.
  • Developing source code in the C# or C++, and then compiling and testing within an integrated development environment
  • Developing test scripts, and running regression tests as necessary to validate requirements at the system level
  • Working with external test groups and being comfortable with fast-paced bug fixes and code deliveries
  • Learning existing code base and becoming an expert in its inner workings eventually able to reconstruct, augment, and expand system functionality as part of career growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering: Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering
  • 2+ years software development or test
  • 1+ year coding in various scripting languages (Bash, Python)
  • Familiarity / interest in learning best coding practices for embedded, real-time systems
  • Familiarity with general orbital mechanics and space communications a plus
  • Familiarity with Simulink auto-code generation and its use in developing control systems a plus
  • Must be able to code in the C++, or C# programming language
  • Must excel in small dynamic teams and in a fast-paced development cycle
  • Must be able to attain and hold a DoD Top Secret security clearance

Must meet applicable COVID safety requirements and protocols
