The Boeing Company is hiring Associate Electrical Hardware Design and Analysis Engineer to join the Boeing India Engineering Team for Electronic Products and will be based out of Bangalore. These positions will report to Boeing India Engineering organization.

A successful candidate will understand the importance of collaboration as these positions will focus on working directly with the Electronics Product Design Manager to implement new hardware designs and design upgrades to meet their organizational goals.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Support product regulatory compliance new designs and its testing. Document and interpret specifications for new designs
  • Candidate would work on selected power electronics hardware design projects as a member of motor start and control operations
  • Candidate would work primarily on Power electronics & Analog designs mainly focused in VFDs,, AC-DC & DC-DC switch mode power supplies for motor control applications
  • Work with cross functional team; mainly systems, software, manufacturing and supply chain
  • Organizes and meticulous capture of documents detailing hardware requirements for the product (HDL, Tradeoffs, VCRM, Design Files, Analysis data, WCCA etc.)
  • Build Printed Circuit Board for High Power Switching Modulated amplifiers, its gate drivers and digital electronics based controllers. Conceptualization, through schematics to testing.
  • Build test systems for developmental and compliance related with assistance from other team members
  • Emulate motor generator applications in LAB for high power systems
  • Adherence to CMMi and AS9100 processes
  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5 to 8 Years of experience over Motor controls, amplifiers and system setup
  • Hands on experience with MOSFET and IGBT based control circuits. Working experience with Power Modules for AC-DC conversion (115V AC to 270V)
  • Hands on experience with MOSFET and IGBT based control circuits. Working experience with Power Modules for DC-DC conversion (28V DC to 270V DC)
  • Expertise on 4Pole Machine operations for start mode, generation mode and its controls
  • 8/16/32 bit microcontroller based digital design interface
  • AC Synchronous motor control knowledge is a plus
  • Very good understanding of statistics and standard deviation techniques to deploy during design of new hardware
  • Good knowledge of EMC compliance. Hands on EMC testing is preferred
  • Good in drafting System Test Plans and Test Procedures. Should have built one lab environment from scratch
  • Mentor Graphics experience.
  • Experience of working with PCB layout team to ensure IPC guidelines, DFM & DFT
  • Good knowledge of thermal dissipation techniques
  • Excellent understanding of fault propagation and reliability
  • Good knowledge of modelling systems in MATLAB for specification verification and interfaces
  • Good knowledge of usage of SABER and equivalent tools for system/subsystem simulation
  • Experience using or applying metrics to measure performance against projects to ensure high quality delivery

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • AC Synchronous motor control knowledge is a plus
  • Application of Moving machine controls and amplifiers in Aerospace is preferred
  • Power Load and distribution mechanisms for aircraft power

Typical Education & Experience:

  • Preferred Masters in relevant Electrical field with 4 to 7 years of experience, or at least a Bachelors’ degree in Engineering with 5 to 8 years of experience in KW Range Motor Control applications and its test systems
