Attached hierarchically to the Sub-Directorate responsible for Protection, Safeguarding and the Environment, the Environment and Safeguard Service is responsible for the Safeguarding of people, property and the environment during specimen and phase tests of preparation and launch of spacecraft operated from the CSG.

The missions entrusted to you:

To safeguard people, property and the environment on the ground, you are responsible for:

  • To implement and develop back-up tools for the assessment of toxic effects linked to propellant bench tests and Ariane 5 / Vega / Soyuz launches in nominal and accidental situations using CFD codes for resolving the mechanics of fluids and analytical codes (EFFECTS, PHAST, etc.),
  • To contribute to the technical activities related to the CNES / CSG safeguarding coordination mission by analyzing the consistency of the tools and results of evaluation of accidental effects linked to major accidents in the danger studies of CSG industrial establishments.

Your main fields of study:

  • CFD modeling,
  • fluid mechanics,
  • solid mechanics,
  • atmospheric diffusion of aerosols,
  • explosion,
  • fire.

You are a privileged interlocutor of engineers from the ground backup service of CNES/CSG, industrialists of CSG and the CNES Launcher Direction based in Metropolitan France.

As Weather Backup Manager and/or Crisis Backup Engineer, you will ensure an operational position on launch campaigns. For this, you follow a qualification program following our internal training course.

Profile of candidate sought:

General engineer graduated from a major school or university equivalent with a specialization in fluid mechanics, you are comfortable expressing yourself in French and in English (read, spoken, written).

You have already acquired first professional experience in CFD modeling (Fluent ANSYS) ideally in the industrial sector with major risks.

Your ability to work in a team, your interpersonal skills and your technical expertise are as many assets to succeed in this position as your self-control, your rigor, your spirit of synthesis.
