Qualifications and experience

  • At least three years of working experience in spacecraft system engineering;
  • Experience with environmental test activities
  • Knowledge of the launch preparation work package
  • Knowledge of System Engineering principles and system-level knowledge of all spacecraft subsystems;
  • Knowledge of data busses architectures;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Proactive attitude and ability to leading a work team;
  • Experience in the use of Matlab and Python;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel;
  • Knowledge of Mission analysis software (GMAT/orekit) is a plus ;
  • Confluence and YOGI requirements experience is a plus;
  • Knowledge of Linux is a plus

Education

University degree preferably in the fields of Aerospace/Space Engineering

Language

Full professional proficiency in the English language is mandatory.

Job Role

As part of D-Orbit systems engineering team you will work in the preparation of the D-Orbit fleet’s missions. You will be involved in the process of configuration and customization of already existing platforms. For each mission, it will be required to coordinate part of the engineering team in the mission payloads on-boarding process, including customizations and ad-hoc compatibility verification. You will then coordinate the flight preparation activities and be directly involved in the launch provider exchanges and in the launch campaign. Finally, supporting the flight operations team to get the mission accomplishment.

You will interface with the Mission Manager, the Engineering and AIT team, and manage all technical aspects behind a satellite mission.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Satellite option sheet configuration and performance budgets definition
  • Satellite customization requirements definition
  • Satellite AIT/AIV coordination
  • Support Mission Manager in planning activities
  • Collect customer’s payload requirements and define customization activities
  • Coordinate the Engineering specialists to prepare payload’s integration
  • Support Mission Manager with the technical documentation required by the launch provider
  • Coordinate satellite’s payload bay preparation
  • Coordinate and support satellite preparation to flight, including environmental test
  • Prepare and participate to Launch Campaign activities
  • Define mission activities and support flight operations team planning
