iMMAP aims to provide targeted support to cluster coordination, its members, and other organizations who need assistance via iMMAP IM staff and build national capacities in IM for Yemeni nationals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Information Management Officer (IMO) will provide information management support with regards to production of different informative products, support with reporting with supportive analytical trends, charts, maps etc. to facilitate data driven decision making. iMMAP will be responsible for the management of the candidate.

The following deliveries are expected from the position:

  1. Design templates for different clusters objectives on regular and Ad-hoc basis.
  2. Update different informative products including infographics, reports, presentations and other technical documents.
  3. Development of dynamic data visualization dashboards in Tableau, PowerBI, Plotly, ArcGIS online etc.
  4. Provide capacity building to the NGO /agency in order to facilitate better identification of humanitarian needs and gaps of humanitarian assistance inside Yemen.
  5. Coordinate activities in regards to production with a team inside Yemem
  6. Product automatization to generate statistical reports, graphs, maps of regular products.
  7. Ability to coordinate with the cluster partners to identify their specific needs in terms of informative products.
  8. Advice cluster members on IM best practices.
  9. Provide regular reports on progress made, main challenges/constraints faced and recommend corrective actions.
  10. Perform any other information management duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

University degree (bachelor’s degree or higher) in Information Science, Geographical Information Systems, Computer Science or other relevant field.
A High School diploma combined with an extensive relevant professional experience may be accepted in lieu of a university degree.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum three (3) years of work experience in the field of Information Management is essential;
  • Experience in data processing and analysis, creation of reports;
  • Experience in the use of software, such as ArcGIS, Tableau, Plotly, Adobe Illustrator, PowerBI;
  • Excellent command of Office suite applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Fluency in English is required.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Relevant experience in working with a UN agency or another humanitarian agency is desirable;
  • Minimum six (6) years of work experience in the field of Information Management is desirable;
  • Experience in the area of emergency preparedness, crisis/emergency relief management, humanitarian/development environment, field coordination is an asset;
  • Excellent inter-personal and general communication skills;
  • A strong service orientation;
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision in a multi-cultural environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Willingness to work extended hours beyond the normal office hours.
  • Physically fit and able to cope with demands of unusual working hours and difficult environments.
