Dawn Aerospace is recruiting a Propulsion Engineer to join our team in Delft, the Netherlands. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a passionate community of engineers looking to change how we fly to space.

In this role, you will be doing hands-on work with space grade technology. While your main focus will be on testing subsystems of our Spaceplane rocket engine, you will also assist in the design and the assembly of said systems.

Dawn’s Spaceplane is set to redefine how assets are delivered to space. This opens unique opportunities for you to learn and grow with the company, to ultimately change how we think about access to space.

What you will do:

  • Prepare and set up manual and automated tests of rocket engine subsystems.
  • Test, validate, verify and qualify rocket engine subsystems.
  • Assess and report test results to fellow propulsion engineers.
  • Diagnose problems in hardware design and provide recommendations and support to resolve these.
  • Assist with the (re)design of propulsion subsystems and coordinate the manufacture and acquisition of rocket engine components and rocket systems.
  • Assist with the design of new test setups; revise and improve the design of existing test setups.

Requirements

  • Experience with planning and conducting hardware tests.
  • Experience with programmable logic controllers used for the control of hardware tests and data acquisition, preferably with National Instruments Lab View environment.
  • A degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience in working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with MATLAB, Python or similar.
  • Experience with computer-aided design, preferably SolidWorks.
