Description

We are looking for a technically strong Project Manager with a practical, can-do attitude to join our New Product Development team in Delft, The Netherlands.

This Project Manager is responsible for driving the success of New Product Development Projects and/or key Initiatives. He/she will lead multi-location, cross functional teams to launch new products using a structured development process. The projects may involve Mechanical, Electronic and/or Fluidic developments of various complexities.

Responsibilities

  • Leads a distributed, cross-functional team to establish project development strategy, schedule, budget, and resource needs.
  • Ensure all project requirements, purposes, objectives, and expectations are clearly defined and agreed team wide.
  • Continuously tracks project activities, risks, and issues to ensure progress on schedule and within budget while meeting established project requirements.
  • Communicating with Stakeholders to keep projects aligned with business goals.
  • Works directly with the team when needed to drive issues to closure, and/or escalates issues and mitigation recommendations to upper management.
  • Resolves people and team dynamic issues for the effective performance of the NPD team in completing their assignments.
  • Lead trade-offs and ensure that unfruitful developments are stopped at gateway points before they become product and project failures.

Requirements

  • A degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems Engineering (or similar).
  • Minimum 5 years of space systems development experience.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to flexibly and positively deal with evolving project constraints.
  • Ability to filter information to focus on key aspects and maintain and close attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • A good command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Willingness to travel and spend periods in New-Zealand.

Desired qualifications

  • Experience with New Product Development and/or early phase projects.
  • Experience in the application of systems engineering methods.
  • Manufacturing and production experience.
  • Working in a geographically widespread team.

Based on current units in space and in production, we’re fast on track to become the number one supplier of green-chemical propulsion systems globally.
