YOUR MISSION:
The Security group within DLR GfR mbH is responsible for the security of Galileo local and electronic environment. As Cyber Security Analyst for the Galileo project, you are responsible within the Security Department for assuring compliance with the security requirements set by the European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA), e.g. by means of internal audits, log analysis, assessment of proposed system changes, participation to technical boards and review of applicable documentation. Additionally, as Cyber Security Analyst your will support the processes associated to the roll-out of new version of the Galileo systems and provide inputs to improve system functionality and overall security posture.
Your responsibilities include:
- Planning and execution of routine internal auditsof the Galileo systems, including gathering of configuration data, processing, analysis, and reporting
- Performance of routine collection of security-relevant logs, processing, analysis, and reporting
- Maintenance of the system baseline documentation
- Development ofimproved workflows for system configuration data and system logs processing and analysis
- Development, implementation and monitoring of risk mitigation measuresin the context of security
- Assessment ofproposed procedural and system configuration changes from a security perspective and with respect to security requirements, including participation to the associated technical boards
- Assessment oftechnical issues from a security perspective and with respect to the security requirements, including participation to the associated technical boards
- Supporting theevaluation and escalation of identified potential security incidents, violations of system baseline and/or security requirements
- Participation to the processes associated to therelease of updated Galileo systems, including review of manufacturer´s documentation, provision of inputs for deployment milestones, planning and execution of regression and functional tests
- Participation to system improvement working groupsand provision of inputs in the context of cyber security.
- Development of training materialsassociated to the team activities and security in general
- Trainingof both team- and project staff
This position might also require:
- Provision of 24/7 on-call supporton a rotation basis (3-4 times per calendar quarter)
- Travelling to Galileo Control Centre – Italy (GCC-I)for routine activities (1-2 times per calendar year)
YOUR QUALIFICATION:
- Secondary / Post-secondary education in computer science / cybersecurity
- 1-3 years of experience in the IT / Cybersecurity / Security sector
- Extensive experience with both Linux and Windows operating systems
- Readiness to undergo security check according to SÜG
- Fluency in English, written and spoken
- Confidentiality and reliability
- Proactiveness and curiosity
The following additional qualifications represent a plus:
- Bachelor’s or Master´s degree in computer science, cybersecurity or similar
- Programming and scripting skills (e.g., Python)
- Command-line skills (e.g., Bash, Powershell)
- Experience with virtualized environments
- Experience with networking in industry environments
- Knowledge of national legal requirements
(e.g., secrecy protection in the economy (BMWi) - Knowledge of international standards in information security
(e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, etc.) - Fluency in German and/or Italian
