Are you ready to take your career to the next level? Deimos Space UK are looking for a talented and experienced technical project manager to oversee a wide variety of projects from conceptual design through implementation in our Flight Systems team in Oxford.

The team works on a wide range of projects from interplanetary and Earth Observation missions to launch and entry atmospheric vehicles, providing technical expertise in avionics systems, mission analysis, flight mechanics, GNC/AOCS and embedded systems.

Main Duties:

  • Manage projects through full lifecycle from proposal to final delivery, ensuring success in terms of quality, budget, and schedule.
  • Develop and adapt comprehensive project plans that merge customer requirements with company goals.
  • Assign & oversee the daily tasks of technical staff, ensuring the project team is focussed and actively working toward established milestones.
  • Monitor and maintain financials, progress, risks, assumptions, issues & actions.
  • Manage customer/supplier relationships and project dependencies.
  • Coordinate with technical competence centres for resource planning and support.
  • Anticipate details of future projects by communicating directly with customers and staying informed of relevant trends and industry news.
  • Desirable: Provide technical expertise to support growth of technical staff


  • Degree in Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
  • PMP, AgilePM or equivalent qualifications desirable.

Professional Experience:

  • +2yr experience managing, inspiring, engaging and motivating teams
  • +5yr relevant engineering experience, in aerospace or related sector

Technical Requirements:


  • Demonstrated background in project management.
  • Excellent team management skills.
  • Solid technical background in GNC, flight mechanics (orbital, atmospheric), avionics or related discipline.


  • Knowledge of satellites applications, launch systems and planetary entry systems.
  • Knowledge of Space programme development cycles and standards.
  • Knowledge of the European/UK Space sector.
  • Knowledge of SW engineering methods and techniques relating to algorithm development, simulation and modelling, software for embedded systems.

Language Skills:

  • Fluency in English, spoken and written. Spanish would also be beneficial.

  • Ability to clearly articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Advanced presentation and reporting skills
  • Strong motivational skills
  • Good negotiating and influencing skills
