Position Overview

  • The Deputy Project Manager is a member of the Defence Systems Project Management Team based in Melbourne. Under the direction of the Project Manager, the Deputy Project Manager will manage EOS Defence Systems projects as required and is responsible for their coordination and completion on-time and within budget and scope. This position has great potential in the future to lead emerging projects subject to individual performance and business needs.

Primary Duties:

  • Assist internal Project Managers to ensure that the organisational outcomes and deliverables are on time, in budget and technically correct within scope.
  • Support the assessment of resource requirements and the allocation of resources for specific elements of the projects.
  • Co-ordinate internal stakeholders including production and engineering groups to ensure contract milestones are achieved within specified cost and time constraints.
  • Deliver configuration control and compliance ensuring supporting company documentation is accurate and current.
  • Participate in the preparation and development of tenders and proposals, Technical Papers and communication plans for the project.

About You

To be successful in the role you will be organised and have strong interpersonal and communication skills. You will work cooperatively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve the desired outcomes and deliverables for the business. The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Experience in Defence acquisition and procurement is highly desirable.
  • Two or more years’ experience in project management is highly desirable.
  • Tertiary qualifications in project management are desirable.
