Firehawk Aerospace, a propulsion-focused aerospace and defense company based in the Dallas, TX area, is undergoing expansion and is seeking a People Manager. The right candidate will be key in driving company culture and helping scale our team.

Responsibilities:

• Develop HR policies and procedures
• Point of contact for all HR matters such as but not limited to benefits, compensation, training, payroll, and employee relations.
• Manage performance, investigations, make recommendations for corrective action, and lead terminations.
• Maintain a productive relationship with team members throughout the organization, meet regularly to discuss morale, areas of improvement, and performance.
• Review and respond to matters complex in nature that have been escalated due to risk, urgency, or severity.
• Manage the integration, configuration, and administration of HR systems.
• Outline team priorities and timelines and manage team performance toward achieving goals.
• Assist in the development and administration of in-house health insurance coverage.
• Initiate, administer, and resolve workers compensation claims for a self-insured and fully insured employer.
• Manage multiple aspects of the company’s payroll function
• Facilitate the new-hire on-boarding process including generating offer letters, and processing background checks.
• Assist with HR initiatives and projects.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• 3-5 years of experience in an HR position.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in an HR position.
• HRCI or SHRM certification.
• Acute attention to detail and strong multitasking skills.
• Ability to work independently and with little direction.
• Ability to quickly and reasonably prioritize tasks.
• Strong communications skills with the ability to communicate with internal/external customers, vendors, management etc. in both formal and informal situations.
• An analytical mindset that thrives on formulating strategy and presenting data.
• Highly organized with a strong sense of urgency.

Additional Requirements

• Position may require extended hours and weekend work.
• Able to travel for short and extended trips as needed. Up to 15% travel.

To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
