As a Principal Software Architect for the GE Aerospace Digital Workplace team, you will be responsible for working closely with the broader Digital Workplace organization to drive the development and deployment of key productivity, collaboration, and engagement tools across the organization in a seamless, contemporary, and modern way. Working under the leadership of our Software & Architecture Leader, you will leading the technical scoping, design, build, and delivery of key products and capability across a product portfolio that spans core Intranet Services, Productivity & Collaboration platforms, BPO tooling, Employee Experience & Engagement platforms, and Document Management solutions. You will be part of a growing, focused team to continually develop this internal product portfolio, delivering increased value to our 60,000+ user base across the world, impacting every employee across the company.
This is a project based role that will support the separation of GE Aerospace into an independent, investor-grade company.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
- Defining a technology strategy and roadmap in partnership with engineering, product, and operational leadership that aligns to GE Aerospace’s DT vision and mission
- Support GE Aerospace’s separation into a standalone company by understanding the as-is product portfolio and develop a to-be vision for the future state of the Digital Workplace portfolio
- Lead and coordinate domain-specific technical and business discussions relative to the future architecture direction across the Digital Workplace product portfolio
- Act as a key decision-maker for all technology and architecture decisions across the product and services landscape
- Produce, review, and present architecture artifacts to articulate vision and obtain buy-in from key stakeholders and Enterprise Architect peers
- Partner with both the SaaS and custom software domains in implementing key Enterprise Architecture decisions through hands-on support and execution
- Review and provide recommendations to business requirements or engineering designs to ensure a scalable, future-proof product portfolio
- Own key relationships across the DT function, including Cyber Security, Identity, Cloud, and Infrastructure to ensure alignment to company-wide standards and procedures
- Research, understand, articulate, and recommend strategic direction based on industry trends and best practices
- Understand emerging technology and the potential value and pitfalls early adoption can bring to the organization
- Apply governance, compliance, and regulatory considerations to all technical, architectural, or product adoption recommendations
- Work closely with operations teams to monitor and optimize system performance through continuous iterations of application and solution refactoring
- Provide technical coaching, mentoring, and guidance to the team
- Be an advocate for and represent the Software Architecture disciple both inside of Digital Workplace and externally across the CTO, CIO, and DT function
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or college with minimum of 10 years of professional experience OR Associates degree with minimum of 13 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of 15 years of professional experience
- Minimum 7 years of professional experience in deploying M365 at scale
- Note: Military experience is equivalent to professional experience
Eligibility Requirements:

Technical Expertise:
- Demonstrate very strong technical leadership skills including solid communication and analytical skills with a thorough understanding of software architecture
- Hands on experience of successful problem definition, decomposition, estimation, and resolution
- Experience building scalable, globally accessible solutions and platforms
- Direct experience working with and building applications on Cloud based environments (SaaS, AWS, Azure, or similar)
- Experience with deploying, monitoring, and scaling changes within an enterprise environment
- Demonstrated coaching of others in programing/engineering/architecture frameworks or other Computer Science skills is desired

- Ability to evaluate technology to drive features and roadmaps, mapping technology trends to internal vision and strategy

Notes:
The salary range for this position is $150,800-$251,300. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive plan.
