An exciting new opportunity has emerged for a Supply Chain Manager to contribute towards the achievement of the company’s strategic and operational targets and overall business aims by developing, monitoring, and continually reviewing the supply chain activities for Gilmour Space. The Supply Chain Manager will also be focusing on continual improvement of performance, efficiency, and costs where it relates to supply chain.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with key stakeholders to develop the supply chain strategy for Gilmour Space
  • Leads the supply chain team in executing best practices and measuring performance through agreed Key Performance Indicators
  • Directs and coordinates the supply chain function, ensuring resources are used effectively with a key focus on profitability
  • Design and implement warehousing strategies for production materials or finished products
  • Analyse data from shipping and delivery processes to locate and resolve bottlenecks and other issues
  • Ensure all supply chain requirements both internal and external are carried out in-line with company expectations, cost-effectively and on time.
  • Works with key stakeholders to forecast demand and create supply chain plans that ensure availability of materials and/or products in support of R&D and production activities
  • Plan, monitor, and optimize inventory levels and oversee warehouse efficiency
  • Lead stocktakes as required and in line with company policies and procedures
  • Actively work with relevant people and departments to ensure supply chain activities are achieved and issues are resolved quickly
  • Develop, train, and implement standard operating procedures as they relate to supply chain activities
  • Develop procedures for coordination of supply chain management with other departments such as
  • Finance, Manufacturing and WHS&E
  • Provide weekly reporting in-line with management requirements
  • Communicate and negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, vendors and freight forwarders to improve profitability and overall services provided
  • Develop Supplier Quality standards and implement an auditing process at key suppliers
  • Monitor supplier performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements
  • Ensures that the leadership team and stakeholders are kept informed of projects, plans and any variations
  • Identify opportunities to reuse or recycle materials to minimize consumption of new materials and/or minimize waste
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and where poor systems impinge on this, review and change so that improvement can be achieved
  • Other duties as requested by Management

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or other related fields
    • MBA preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Supply Chain Manager (or similar) in a Manufacturing Environment
  • Experience with establishing systems in a startup culture
  • Excellent knowledge of supply chain processes
  • Working experience of ERP systems (Fishbowl would be highly regarded)
  • Previous management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • The ability to work independently and part of teams
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation/requirements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
