Job Description

This role will be responsible for overseeing the manufacturing of space flight hardware and act as main point of contact for the assembly and test of framed motor actuators. The role will also be responsible for driving the execution of each program in clean room assembly and test.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with lead engineer on insourcing activities.

  • Communicates manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, or other information to facilitate production processes.

  • Acts as main point of contact for development program execution in clean room.

  • Writes manufacturing instructions.

  • Trains assemblers on new assembly processes and products.

  • Writes justifications for capital expenditures.

  • Reviews parts and assemblies for potential problems and proactively develops and implements changes to prevent failures.

  • Works through non-conformances in hardware during assembly to return products to assembly.

  • Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.

  • Evaluates products based on specifications and quality standards.

Required Experience Skills and Education

  • US Person (Citizen or Permanent Resident)

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 to 4 years of relevant professional experience.

  • Performs work under general supervision.

  • Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.

  • Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter.

  • May provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to program team members.
