Job Description

Honeybee Robotics is seeking a Servo Control System Engineer for an innovative team focused on bringing solutions to the space mechanisms and robotics market.

Candidate will be responsible for all phases of servo control system design and implementation including working knowledge of BLDC and stepper motors, motor drive circuit design, simulation, system identification, control algorithm design, firmware implementation, and performance validation.

Successful candidate should have a working knowledge of Continuous and Discrete-Time Modeling using Simulink.


The position requires a candidate who meets the following requirements:

  • M.S. in Mechanical, Electrical or aligned engineering field with 5 or more years of applied experience
  • Theoretical and practical experience with advanced control algorithms and system identification using Simulink
  • Demonstrated implementation on embedded control systems including microcontrollers, DSP/DSCs and/or FPGAs with BLDC motors
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to create Simulink physics-based models of system under control
  • Ability to draft test requirements, test plans, and test reports
  • Knowledge of sensors used in electrical/mechatronic feedback systems


  • Familiarity with relevant NASA and DoD design standards.
