ICEYE is building and operating its own commercial constellation of small Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellites with SAR data available to customers. Our satellites acquire images of Earth at any time – even when it’s cloudy or dark – providing commercial and government partners with unmatched persistent monitoring capabilities. Information derived from our SAR images helps customers make data-driven decisions to address time-critical challenges in various sectors, such as maritime, disaster management, insurance, and finance.

We launched the world’s first small SAR satellite in January 2018. To date, ICEYE has successfully launched a total of 14 SAR satellite missions and has raised $152M in financing. We don’t plan to stop – join our team and let’s achieve great things together!

To support the growth of the company, we are looking for a GIS Support Analyst Intern to join our Operation and Product Delivery Team based in Espoo, Finland.

In this role, you will work closely with the Customer Delivery teams and other Operations teams on all efforts related to assessing, visualizing, documenting and communicating our overall Constellation Capabilities to enable timely and accurate response to our internal and external customers. There will also be close collaboration with other stakeholders, including Sales and marketing departments. This is a temporary position for circa 6 months and the compensation is defined based on the level of studies. We wish that the intern could start during the beginning of 2022.

What you will do:

  • Develop feasibility analysis and visualization tools & applications that support our ability to accurately and timely communicate our current and future constellation capabilities to internal and external customers
  • Engage with various stakeholders to streamline, automate and operationalize internal processes that are related to our ability to plan, analyze and communicate our current and future capabilities. This includes, but is not limited to, imaging capabilities for current and future generations of satellites and ground station network roadmaps, as well as related analysis, including capacity usage forecasting dashboards
  • Support efforts to create configuration and related documentations for various Production assets, such as Satellites, Satellite sensors, Ground Stations and Antennas
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to support related activities focused on scaling and
  • Operationalization of Solutions Business

Your background and skillset:

  • Experienced with practical GIS applications, studies or degree in Geographic Information Systems is preferred
  • Experience with statistical analysis and data visualization with either Python or R
  • Basic understanding of orbital mechanics and satellite systems
  • Practical experience with relational database and web development
  • Basic geospatial and analytics knowledge about using coordinate systems, interpolation methods, and other techniques for geospatial analysis
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail
