Job Description

We are looking for a motivated systems integration engineer to provide integration, testing, and automation leadership to our team. You will be defining and implementing strategies and technologies that ensure seamless integration and high-quality performance of our product. Specific duties may include developing integration and test strategies, execution of manual and automated test plans, drawing up performance documents, identifying faults, and reviewing reports.

To ensure success as an integration engineer you should be comfortable in integrating multi-component systems and testing of new features as well as generating continuous testing suites for regression analysis. You possess high-level problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage projects end-to-end. A top-notch systems integration engineer ensures a comprehensive and methodical integration strategy with an eye towards incremental automation.

You will work in a team environment to devise and execute a comprehensive integration strategy and execution plan. You will apply your communication skills to incorporate requirements from a cross-disciplinary team and technology domain. You will collaborate with your team to develop and document suitable processes and procedures within your area.

You will be “hands-on” with evaluating and testing prototypes and engineering samples and managing automation tools. In our collaborative team environment, you will work inside an enthusiastic multi-disciplinary engineering team, allowing you to evolve and enlarge your competence.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for systems integration testing & calibration of active phased array-based satellite user terminals, including:

  • Integration of mechanical, electronic, and software elements of the product
  • Writing automation software and scripts for system, component, and unit level tests
  • Translating test requirements & key product characteristics for the automated testing & calibration system for the phased array
  • Overseeing process of documenting and implementing test procedures.
  • Incorporating pass/fail criteria and make sure that terminals that pass the test suite are fully spec compliant as well as compliant with regulatory requirements including antenna patterns, cross-polarization, system G/T, antenna & system gains, and EIRP mask compliance
  • Developing automated processes and testing of satellite terminal sub-systems & functions including WIFI, GPS, and inertial measurement sensors
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or related fields
  • 3-5 years of experience with proven track record as a Systems Integration Engineer
  • Experience with new product development or factory production
  • Experience in C/C++, Python, Java (or comparable) programming language
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to discuss product flaws in a constructive and positive manner.
  • Well-developed team collaboration skills and the ability to communicate ideas with engineers, vendors, and customers.
  • Strong documentation skills to create, organize and manage the technical specification requirements, test reports, and technical application notes.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, coupled with well-focused details
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or related fields
  • Knowledge of microwave, active phased array or other types of antennas
  • Familiarity with test equipment like vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, noise figure meters, power meters etc.
  • Experience in antenna pattern measurements including active element patterns, gain, G/T, beam-width, sidelobe levels, co and cross polarization levels, axial ratio, return loss, insertion Loss, coupling factors, etc.
  • Experience in developing test software, automation, manufacturing, or embedded electronics
