Position

Avio is looking for the figure of Mechanical AIV System Engineer, who will be responsible for setting up and managing all the activities of definition, integration and testing in the mechanical field of a component in production, and ensuring, with the other company departments, the consistency of the functional requirements and programmatic.

The resource will perform the following tasks:

  • Definition of the mechanical lay-out of the entire system, coordinating mechanical designers and interfacing with the system disciplines and other company functions;
  • Definition of the most appropriate design choices according to the high-level requirements of the system;
  • Definition of system requirements for mechanical aspects and operations contributed to the definition of the PBS for mechanical components and the flow down of functional requirements and mechanical interfaces;
  • Definition of integration logics and sequences as well as interfaces with ground systems both in the integration and flight phases;
  • Issue of system integration drawings and implementation specifications;
  • Participation in the definition of the system development and test plan, in particular verifying that the system tests are sufficient to verify all the mechanical requirements of the system;
  • Participation in system test campaigns as responsible for the definition of the test article and implementation operations;
  • Exercise of the role of mechanical technical authority during all phases of the project, with the task of approving the processes of technical changes and derogations, defining the corrective and preventive actions in case of non-compliance, guaranteeing the technical conformity of the system with respect to the mechanical requirements.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering;
  • At least 5 years of experience in Space Engineering with technical coordination skills;
  • Good knowledge of complex mechanical systems and the general architecture of a space or tactical transportation system, as well as mechanical integration operations;
  • Good technical synthesis ability at system level;
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, PDMLink, ENOVIA;
  • Fluency in English.
