Job Description

  1. Designs, develops, and tests a variety of power plants, aircraft, missiles, and parts, taking into consideration the most efficient use of the natural laws affecting flight.
  2. Establishes structural specifications, performs stress analysis, and conducts performance tests.

At level 2 employee Typically has 2 – 5 years of professional experience.

NOTE: This position is located at an access controlled facility, only US citizens are eligible to be considered. Additionally, the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance is required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Mechanical Engineering. Related technical disciplines may be considered.
  • Must have experience with propulsion concepts and underlying supporting hardware (subsystems)
  • Must have prior experience conducting thermal/heat transfer analysis

Desired Skills:

  • Experience designing, integrating, or testing/qualifying propulsion systems of components
  • Experienced designing and developing thermal management systems

Telecommute: The work associated with this position will be performed at the designated Lockheed Martin facility. Situational telecommuting may be considered and authorized at the discretion of your leader and based upon the role.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4×10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Clearance Level: Secret
