LSE Space GmbH is looking for an experienced Software Architect to support our Software Engineering Team in Gilching or Darmstadt (Germany). The main focus of the position will be the design and development of Satellite Ground Segment Systems.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Provide support for the design and development of a satellite ground segment systems
  • Provide support during all phases of the software development life cycle as part of the product development team
  • Evaluate and identify new technologies for implementation
  • Software analysis and requirements analysis
  • Software testing and quality assurance


  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or another related field
  • Knowledge and practical experience with the following technologies:
    • JAVA11+
    • Different database technologies
    • Containerization with Docker
    • Container orchestration systems
    • Spring framework
  • System-minded and a team player
  • Self-starter, able to work independently with little or no supervision in a small team
  • Quick learner
  • Fluent in English, both in speech and writing
  • The following experiences would be desirable:
    • Knowledge of GraphQL
    • Building and maintaining multi-stage CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Maven, JIRA, GITLab, Nexus and SonarQube
    • Managing cloud-based infrastructure on AWS, Azure using Kubernetes
    • Secure Software Development
    • Genuine interest in space and ground systems
    • Experience with SCRUM
    • Experience with C++
    • Knowledge of distributed systems
    • Experience with network protocols
