Made In Space Europe is adding a Structural Analysis Engineer to the Mechanical Design Engineering team, which is responsible for efforts related to structural loads analysis to validate and optimize the design of space robotic mechanisms. The Structural Analysis Engineer shall be responsible for building the FEA model of the system and its components, performing mechanical and thermal stress analysis, modal analysis and fatigue analysis to support the design of Made In Space Europe robotic arms.

As the Structural Analysis Engineer, you are devoted to reducing the mass of robotic arm while maintaining adequate stiffness. Your expertise in modeling and analysis, and your extensive knowledge of vibrational and thermal loads will be critical to increasing survivability and reliability of the company’s robotic systems.


  • Lead all efforts related to structural analysis and support mechanical design team activities and design decisions
  • Ensure that system will fulfill its intended function in a given loads environment
  • Defining and build finite element models of components and assemblies
  • Defining structural loads in a wide range of mission events, such as ground testing, launch, separation and operating environments
  • Validate dynamic models for flight to verify significant mode shapes
  • Quantify uncertainty during dynamic load cycles
  • Perform structural loads and dynamics analysis
  • Perform static calculations to support early feasibility and subsystem / system level models
  • Support tests definition and perform test-analysis correlation
  • Support materials selection, system optimization and re-designs


  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or materials engineering
  • At least three years of experience as a stress engineer analyst
  • Demonstrated FEA skills (through portfolio and/or modeling and analysis evaluations)
  • Software Expertise: ANSYS, NASTRAN, ESATAN/SINDA,
  • Fluency in English
  • Adaptable to a startup environment, able to self-start with minimal guidance and in dynamic environment


  • Experience in performing stress analysis for space applications
  • Performing  in the past stress analysis for space mechanisms, such as joints, SADMs, APMs, HDRMs, scientific instruments or mechanisms for space exploration missions
  • Experience in structural and thermal tests
  • Experience in mechanical design optimization is an asset
  • Portfolio of models and analysis is a strong asset
