SYSTEMS ENGINEER, Sloan School of Management-Technology Services-Infrastructure, Operations and Security (IOS) Team, to join the team responsible for the design, architecture, set up, maintenance, security, and performance of all of Sloan’s servers and storage. Will design, set up, and maintain Sloan’s server Windows, Linux, VMWare ESXi, and storage infrastructure and its Active Directory and VDI environments; maintain security, reliability, and interoperability of all systems; monitor and optimize performance of all systems in order to provide the best customer experience for end-users; troubleshoot networks, systems, applications, and storage infrastructure and remediate operational issues; implement and maintain plans for business continuity and disaster recovery; and perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED: B.S./B.A.; at least three years’ professional work experience; good written and oral communication skills; meticulous attention to detail; proven analytical and problem-solving skills; experience working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment; hands-on hardware and software troubleshooting experience; strong working knowledge of VMware ESXi v6.x, Windows Server 2012/2016/2019, and/or Redhat Linux 6.x/7.x; strong working knowledge of Windows desktop systems; and the ability to learn new technologies quickly, work independently and collaboratively, and lift weights of up to 50 pounds and work in tight spaces.
PREFERRED: strong working knowledge of setup, clustering, mirroring, and backup of MS/MySQL; strong working knowledge of VMware Horizon View and Active Directory; experience with Microsoft System Center Operations Manager, Nagios, OSSEC, or similar system monitoring tools; experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager, Ansible, or similar configuration management tools; experience with IBM TSM backup technology; experience with SAN storage; and experience with F5 LTM
