TESS PAYLOAD DATA OPERATIONS (PDO) INFRASTRUCTURE SPECIALIST, Kavli Institute for Astrophysics and Space Research, to be responsible for the maintenance of the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) Payload Data Operations (PDO) infrastructure, including the associated file system, database, software codebase, and computing environment; and for the execution and associated support of TESS code as part of the science pipeline as needed.  Will also contribute to planning for associated infrastructure; review, revise, and develop associated documentation when necessary; coordinate with TESS scientists, engineers, and leadership for planning, inputs, and technical analysis as required; and perform other duties as needed.  This position requires collaborative interfacing with the TESS science team, technical staff, and external contractors. 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  B.Sc. or its equivalent in computer science or related field; experience with PostgresSQL; proficiency in Python and with git and associated code management tools; and familiarity with Linux command line.  Must be able to work in a team-based environment across all levels; carry out duties independently, seeking input and advice as appropriate; and communicate collaboratively at the highest technical levels.

PREFERRED:  experience with TESS science operations or similar data processes; proficiency in Python for Astronomy (AstroPy), C, C++, and Java; proficiency with Django; and interest or background in astrophysics or related field.
