MDA is looking for a motivated and talented Engineer (3-5 years’ experience) in Mechanical Engineering to support its Mechanical Analysis team. Within a concurrent engineering team, the successful candidate will establish the structural design of robotic space equipment.
The structural analyst will perform the static, dynamic and thermoelastic analyses using standard structural analysis techniques, Nx/Nastran and other commercial or in-house developed softwares.
You will size the components, identify problem areas and suggest modifications as necessary. You will calculate the safety margins and document the analyses. He/she may also be called to generate test procedures, carry experiments and write test reports to demonstrate design worthiness.
Candidates must have the following knowledge and skills:
- A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering completed. A master degree is a plus.
- Desire to learn.
- Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis, preferably with Nx/Nastran.
- Knowledge of composites, fatigue and structural testing (vibration test, modal test, etc.) are definitive assets.
- Relevant experience (minimum 3 years)
Excellent verbal, written communication skills are essential to this position.
All candidates must be able to obtain CGP and ITAR clearance.
