Software Engineer for Aerospace Test Software – ADA, C++
Background information / responsibilities
In this technically broad leadership role you will be responsible for maintenance and development for key parts of the software architecture for embedded and desktop applications for the Aerospace Structural Testing market.
Developing applications for the Test Markets
Moog builds effective easy-to-use controllers and desktop applications for structural testing for the Automotive and Aerospace testing marketplace.
Architecting these applications requires deep understanding of real-time systems design, control algorithms, safety design, real-time network communication and -of course- software development tools and practices.
You are are able to strike the optimal balance between re-purposing legacy software, using open-source and commercial packages and building new software components. A very large part of the Aerospace Testing product software is written in the ADA language.
Moog builds and delivers all software using agile teams -and development methods. You should feel at ease with the open communication, high-paced and results-driven culture that comes with an agile environment.
What skills and experience do we like you to have:
- A passion for software development and working with highly motivated individuals
- 3 years+ experience in software design, large codebases and a proven track record with delivering robust and successful software.
- Great technical communication skills.
- Profound working knowledge of modern software frameworks, open source software and architectural trends.
- High level of software craftsmanship in ADA and/or C++ and associated frameworks.
- Working knowledge of modern C++ is required.
- Experience with the ADA programming language, or a willingness and ability to rapidly master it.
- Experience with network programming and concurrent programming.
- Agile Scrum practitioner; applies and advocates best practices (TDD, BDD, peer-reviewing, continuous integration, automated build environments).
- A solid background in physics, control theory, mathematics and/or computer science.
The candidate will report directly to the Manager Software Engineering.
