Based on-site at RAAF Base Amberley and reporting to the Security Operations Manager, the Security Officer will be responsible for the KC-30A Program to reach and maintain compliance in accordance with Program, Contractual, Regulatory and Company security requirements in accordance with Defence Security Principles Framework and NGA policies.

This dynamic and ever-evolving role is the central point of contact for security matters for the KC-30A Program. The successful candidate will take ownership of security initiatives to represent and mature the security function and act as the central point of contact for Northrop Grumman Staff for advice, guidance and support.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Act as the Security Officer for the KC-30A Program (or additional programs as necessary)
  • Participation in Department of Defence and Northrop Grumman Security Programs, audits and reviews
  • Maintenance, monitoring, correspondence and updating of AGSVA Defence Security Clearances, ASIC and DCAC passes
  • Maintaining accurate, timely and compliant security records in accordance with Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) requirements
  • Maintaining security accreditation to enable continuous business operations
  • Development and dissemination of security awareness information and training
  • Overseeing visitor management
  • Provision of physical security advice and support to facilities management, business development and project delivery teams as required
  • Develop work instructions to assist with compliance of security and other policy ensuring standardisation with NGA Security team;
  • Take ownership and facilitate security initiatives to mature the security function

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Relevant qualifications and/or equivalent professional experience
  • Must be an Australian citizen with a current Defence Security clearance at NV1 level
  • Ability to complete Security Officer Course within 6 months of gaining position
  • Proven experience interfacing with Department of Defence personnel on security requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience communicating effectively with all levels within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience in Australian Government Security and the ability to interpret Defence policy documents.

Note: As a Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian Citizens. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable, as such your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
