Northrop Grumman Mission Systems, Field Engineering is seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer with the ability and desire to assume a leadership role in support of the fielded POD AESA (Active Electronically Scanned Array) system.  The responsibilities of this position are two-fold;

The Electronics Engineer position will be based in Baltimore where the candidate will initially learn the basic operation and maintenance of the POD system. Upon obtaining program clearance, the engineer will proceed to deep dive into learning all aspects of the POD system to include, but not limited to, theory of operation, hardware design, operational modes, OFP software, and Built-In-Test (BIT), as well as maintenance, troubleshooting and calibration. Field assignment duties and responsibilities include, troubleshooting POD hardware/software issues to help determine technical solutions in accordance with product and customer specifications, and recommend actions to company or customer representatives for coordinative product solution.   Candidate must have the ability and desire to within a team structure consisting of members located at various POD support bases. Candidate must be an effective communicator and possess good organizational skills to manage frequent intra-organizational meetings and have a high level of customer interaction as the local on-site NGC representative.   Security requirements: This position requires an active DOD Secret (S) and the ability to obtain Special Program Access Clearance(s).

This position can be filled as an Electronics Engineer OR a Principal Electronics Engineer.  Qualifications for both are listed below:

Travel Required: Yes, 50 % of the Time

Basic Qualifications for an Electronics Engineer:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related technical field and 2 years’ experience
• Experience in hardware\software integration of embedded systems
• Basic knowledge of RF fundamentals including radar operations
• Experience with lab support equipment such as digital oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers
• Experience with MATLAB, C, C++,
• Effective verbal and written communication, ability to work in a team environment
• Ability and willingness to travel to customer locations that include business trips and short term travel to customer facilities at CONUS locations. Secret Clearance investigated within the last 5 years, with the ability to gain program specific clearances. U.S. Citizenship is a pre-requisite

Basic Qualifications for a Principal Electronics Engineer:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related technical field and 5 years’ experience; 3 years’ experience with a Masters’ Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related technical field.
• Experience in hardware\software integration of embedded systems
• Basic knowledge of RF fundamentals including radar operations
• Experience with lab support equipment such as digital oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers
• Experience with MATLAB, C, C++,
• Effective verbal and written communication, ability to work in a team environment
• Ability and willingness to travel to customer locations that include business trips and short term travel to customer facilities at CONUS locations. Secret Clearance investigated within the last 5 years, with the ability to gain program specific clearances. U.S. Citizenship is a pre-requisite

Preferred Qualifications:  

• Experience with FPGA code development and integration
• Experience with VxWorks real-time OS
• Knowledge of Radar Modes
