Your Tasks:

The Telescope group is responsible for the realization of a totally remote and automatic Telescope to support the main space agencies in the SST and NEO fields.

  • You will be involved in the realization of a wide spectrum of software components ranging from  high level control system and GUI to low-level code for real-time operating systems.
  • You will contribute in the HW integration and testing working with all technical teams involved in the telescope development.
  • Contribute to the entire software lifecycle, focusing on coding, debugging, test, integration and documentation
  • Develop software, test on the real HW and document the design applied.
  • Support AIV activities and observation campaign
  • Analysing users stories and/use cases/requirements for validity and feasibility
  • Collaborate closely with other team members and departments
  • Provide timely solutions
  • Apply quality engineering principals throughout the Agile product lifecycle
  • Provide support and documentation
  • Additional duties may be assigned as needed.


Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or higher engineering degree, in any relevant area such as electronic engineering, computer science, aerospace engineering, physics or automation.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Software Developer or similar role
  • Knowledge of the EPICS framework
  • Knowledge of general-purpose operating systems targeted for embedded applications (such as embedded Linux)
  • Knowledge of network management in Linux
  • Experience using and configuring build toolchains or similar development environments (such as Makefile, WAF, Visual Studio etc.)
  • Familiarity with Git versioning system or any similar DVCS
  • Experience with test-driven development
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Team player
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Fluency in spoken and written Italian and English
