Mission

In the Design and Dynamic Resistance Research Unit, you carry out studies and research on new structural concepts for aeronautics. Thanks to your theoretical and practical knowledge of the sizing and optimization of aeronautical structures, you are involved in the upstream research projects of the Office to provide structural skills as part of a multidisciplinary optimization process. In this context, your contribution will be based on the development of digital tools for dimensioning the structure, making it possible in particular to establish a mass balance of the device. The development of these tools also requires advanced programming skills in order to allow the development of dedicated Finite Element tools that are quick and adapted to the problem to be solved in order to achieve effective integration into the multidisciplinary optimization process. Finally, given the activities to be carried out for this position, good knowledge of related scientific fields are necessary, in particular in fluid mechanics and general design of an aeronautical structure.

After a few years under the supervision of an expert in the field, you are expected to address this issue by becoming a source of proposals for the launch of new projects. The geographic location of this position may change at that time as part of a consolidation of these activities on the sites in Île-de-France.

This work will be carried out within the framework of international collaborations, a good level of written and spoken English is therefore essential for this position.

Doctor or engineer by training, in the field of structural mechanics, your taste for research leads you to participate in the international influence of the laboratory, through communications at national and international conferences and publications in peer-reviewed journals.

  • Engineer from grandes écoles or doctor;
  • A first experience in a research organization will be valued;
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of dimensioning and optimization of structures;
  • Mastery of Fortran and Python programming languages;
  • Strong capacity for collaborative teamwork;
  • Practice of English essential;
  • Writing skills.
