Working in the AOCS, Mechanical & AIT Team
This team is the workshop for Open Cosmos satellite missions! The team provide engineering support during the design phase then actually build and test the satellite – it doesn’t get much cooler than this!
What will you be doing?
As an AIT Engineer you will be Assembling the satellites then playing a key role in testing that they do what they were meant to do and how they respond in certain scenarios, preparing them for launch – you’ll also get them integrated into the launcher!
You will also support aspects relating to quality keeping clear and appropriate documentation and engaging throughout the planning stages with other colleagues.
What you need to be successful
- You’ll need strong, hands on skills in mechanical assembly, including soldering
- You’ll have strong knowledge of satellite systems and and common AIT processes
- You’ll know the practical implications of working in a clean room and lab environment
- You’ll be pro-active and curious in your approach to work, always looking for more effective ways of doing things
