Oxford Space Systems develops innovative deployable structures for space applications. These include satellite antennas, panels, booms, and other structures that need to unfold to a large volume once in orbit but need to be folded to fit a small volume during the spacecraft’s launch. Our programmes span a wide range of opportunities; short proof of concept studies; first of a kind radical developments; accelerated flight hardware projects covering development, test and build; major multiyear mission programmes; and repeat builds for satellite constellations.

Oxford Space Systems develops innovative deployable antenna solutions for the world’s leading satellite builders. Our most recent antenna, that deployed in space, would fit inside a biscuit tin!

We have a QMS compatible with the ISO 9001:2015 standard and have implemented a number of digital systems and processes to enable and facilitate business operations. As our company grows there is a greater need to implement, maintain, review and improve the company’s processes and systems, to maximise business efficiency and effectiveness. We need a Quality Engineer to join our team and contribute to that effort.

As this role provides an excellent insight into OSS’s business, it could lead to a number of potential career paths across various functions depending on aptitudes and personal preferences.

The Role

It’s an exciting time at OSS as we continue to update and maintain the OSS QMS, by implementing the QA action plan and identifying further opportunities for improvement. The role will greatly contribute to ensuring process compliance throughout the business with the aim of achieving ISO 9001 certification.

You will have the opportunity to work across the business and will need to work with colleagues to understand and then drive implementation of best practice across the various processes.

 

You are likely to have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or another equivalent discipline and experience working in the Aerospace industry, preferably in Space.

 

You will be a team player with excellent attention to detail, and strong organisational, problem solving and analytical skills. You will be process-oriented, able to influence stakeholders across the business.
