OSS has delivered multiple systems for operational satellites and to date has achieved 100% in-orbit deployment success. Located at the Harwell Campus, our organisation has state of the art design and analysis capabilities in the areas of RF technology, mechanical, thermal and structural dynamics combined with manufacturing facilities which includes the largest clean room on campus.

 

The Role

We are growing and have a new opportunity for two Senior RF Antenna Engineers to join our team. It’s an exciting time as we work on new projects, and our existing product lines so we can repeat builds and meet growing customer demand.  These roles will play a key part in developing deployable RF antenna products to meet the requirements of our new and existing customers particularly in the defense and security market. Antenna products will cover a wide range of applications including Synthetic Aperture Radar, SIGINT, secure sat comms, IoT and data relay.

On a day-to-day basis this role will partner with our Business Development Team and work within our Project Teams to prepare technical proposals for customers, interpret technical issues and requirements, designing solutions that meet customer needs and completing RF testing and verification activities.

You are likely to have a bachelors or equivalent in Physics, Electronics/Electrical Engineering or a related subject along with excellent RF and Antenna design theory.  You will have working knowledge of RF software packages and RF test equipment.  Ideally you will also understand the defence and military domain and you must have or be able to obtain security clearance*.

*Due to the sensitive nature of the projects being worked on it is essential that the role holder has UK Government National Security Vetting to SC (Security Check) or DV (Developed Vetting) level. If this is not already in place the candidate must be able to successfully gain SC clearance meeting the following obligations: a candidate will normally need to have been a UK resident for at least five years and undergo the following: Completion of BPSS. A full security questionnaire. Checks on criminal records, credit and financial history, and Security Service records.
