About the Role:  

The FPGA team at Planet Labs is tasked with implementing custom logic and algorithms for orbital imaging platforms.  Our team develops FPGA RTL for capture, storage, and downloading of high resolution multi-spectral satellite imagery.  Planet labs is looking for an intern to work with the FPGA design team to help implement, characterize, and verify FPGAs.  Your project will cover the end-to-end FPGA development cycle and you will work with a variety of teams, including EE, Software, and V&V.

Impact You’ll Own:

  • Design and implement RTL and software to exercise multi-gigabit SERDES used for FPGA to FPGA communication
  • Work on a stand alone project starting with an initial self-contained design and carrying through to a final deliverable
  • Project includes a design phase, implementation, and verification and test phases
  • Document technical approach and solution and present your work
