Essential Functions

  • Write work orders, procedures, and reports to reflect new or modified data and voice capablilites
  • Update and maintain databases and Circuit Layout Records (CLRs)
  • Analyze system documentation for Western Range Communication Systems
  • Provide technical assistance in the designing, modifying, and testing equipment/circuit configurations
  • Provides information on Western Range circuits to range users, government personnel and outside contractors
  • Assigns, reconfigures, updates, and deletes circuits associated with Western Range assets
  • Submit and coordinate and Cyberspace Infrastructure Planning System (CIPS) work actions
  • Must be able to prioritize workload, work independently and in a team environment
  • Participate in government or contractor chaired meetings
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of multiplexers, digital channel banks, digital voice switching systems, carrier and wire-line circuitry, timing and lift-off systems, data switch and display systems, and the CORE Network transport
  • Good knowledge of computer operation and the ability to effectively use Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Visio,
  • Knowledge of Remedy, and Circuit Layout Records (CLRs) desired
  • Solid conflict management skills
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational skills with specific emphasis on attention to detail
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship or U.S. naturalization
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License required

Required Experience

  • Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Two or more years’ experience in communication systems, or similar technical experience
  • Experience with Western Range desired
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications
  • The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship or U.S. naturalization
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License required
  • This position is assigned to Vandenberg Space Force Base, Ca.
