RHEA Group is currently recruiting a System Simulation Engineer to support the cyber-security team on its activities for the European Space Agency. You will have the opportunity to work in a challenging environment with state-of-the-art technologies within the cyber-security and space domains.

Tasks and Activities

The scope of work will include:

  • Design generic space system simulation capability leveraging ESA’s SIMSAT and TEVALIS tools.
  • Finalise requirements and design, prepare test plans, test cases and test procedures for the Space
  • System Emulation and its sub-components.
  • Lead development and test of the subcomponents (small team).
  • Develop interfaces to specialised external hardware required to support cyber security testing.
  • Integrate subcomponents into test scenarios.
  • Perform verification testing of the Space System Emulation.
  • Integrate Space System Emulation into Synthetic Environment.
  • Support System Verification and Validation activities.
  • Lead and perform mission-specific tailoring.
  • Report to System Architect.

Skills and Experience

The following skills and experience are mandatory:

  • Spacecraft and/or Ground Segment engineering.
  • Spacecraft and ground segment simulation model requirements, design, development and
  • verification/validation.
  • C++ development.
  • Linux (e.g. SLES).
  • Working with ECSS standards.
  • Experience with ESA’s SIMSAT (SIMULUS) and/or TEVALIS tools.
  • Knowledge of CCSDS SLE Protocols.
  • Knowledge of CCSDS SDLS Protocols.
  • Knowledge of EDEN Protocols.
  • Knowledge of CubeSat Protocols.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, team working, good analytic and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong communication and documentation abilities.
  • Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communications skills, with very good written and spoken English.
