We are looking for a Security Consultant/Project Manager to join RHEA Inc.’s growing team in Ottawa, Canada.

RHEA Inc.’s team in Ottawa specializes in providing security consultancy to institutions and security-conscious departments. They work to optimize client’s performance, and ensure solutions are followed through from inception, to implementation.

The ideal candidate will use their experience and understanding of project management and design, to build long-term relationships with clients and oversee the full lifecycle of security projects. This will include various aspects of physical security systems, to improve Door Entry Systems, CCTV and Access Control Solutions.

Tasks and Activities

The scope of work will include:

  • Providing project management and quality control for security systems detailed design projects.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with clients’ representatives.
  • Identifying, researching, developing, and suggesting improvements for the implementation of security system hardware, software, equipment and products, policies and procedures that will serve to strengthen the client’s operations.
  • Conducting and synthesizing project and site-specific technical, business, and functional requirements through workshops and providing implementation guidance to the department.
  • Supporting the refinement of a physical security system architecture and system designs.
  • Supporting the client in coordinating server and networking requirements.
  • Supporting the client in the development of documentation for the purposes of the department’s internal Project Management and Infrastructure Gating processes.
  • Supporting the development of technical specifications, statements of work and implementation plans.
  • Supporting the development of system templates and configuration to ensure consistent system applications across facilities.
  • Supporting the development of IT and systems-related project management deliverables, including but not limited to system architectures, operational and technical manuals and test procedures.
  • Providing implementation and procurement support and analysis services.
  • Supporting and coordinating the development and cataloguing of as-built documentation, project close-out documentation, and installation reports.
  • Supporting vendors and ensuring coordination of activities and quality control programs.
  • Planning and supporting testing and commissioning.
  • Developing as-built documentation.
  • Developing and delivering project schedules.
  • Developing Project Cost Estimates.

Skills and Experience

The following skills and experience are mandatory:

  • College or University degree in systems design, engineering, commerce, or management.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience (preferably 10+ years) in system designs.
  • In possession of, or a desire to achieve, security certifications (PSP/CPP).
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

The following skills would be highly desirable:

  • Experience using AutoCAD.
  • Experience dealing with or delivering projects within the GoC.
  • In possession of other PM certifications (including PMP, CAPM, CSPM etc.).
  • Ability to speak French, written and spoken.
