We are looking for a Galileo System Engineer to work in the beautiful city of Prague to support the system engineering activities of EUSPA.

Galileo is Europe’s Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), providing improved positioning and timing information with significant positive implications for many European services and users. The objective of this role is to support the ground segment engineering activities.

Tasks and Activities

The scope of work will include:

  • Contributing to the technical management of the system and segment infrastructure evolution activities.
  • Supporting the system development follow-up, system qualification and acceptance activities.
  • Participating in the system anomaly review board UNCLA/CLA and contributing to the analysis of system anomalies in terms of requirements affected and potential impact on services.
  • Analysing requirements traceability from mission level (MRD), down to GSRD and segment requirements to confirm compliance to Exploitation, Mission and Security requirements.
  • Preparing the acceptance milestone internally in the EUSPA and in close coordination with external partners.
  • Contributing to trade-offs at EUSPA level between different deployment and migration approach scenarios, ensuring GNSS service continuity during migration activities.
  • Preparing for, participating in and representing the EUSPA in relevant boards if requested by the EUSPA on a case-by-case basis providing a specific mandate, such as Change Control Boards, from the system and infrastructure point of view.
  • Analyzing changes to be implemented in the system in operation and providing an assessment of their adequacy and impact on the system qualification.
  • Producing and maintaining up-to-date physical architecture diagrams to reflect the actual status of the system deployed and operated.
  • Providing activity reports, including a list of all activities and deliverables, over the reporting period.
  • Preparing technical specifications, including technical and operational requirements, detailed technical specification and contributing to design documentation.
  • Preparing documents for procurements.
  • Supporting ESA and contractors’ proposal’s review.
  • Participating in anomaly review board reports.
  • Sending memos addressing the outcomes of Design/qualification milestones and Acceptance reviews.
  • Memorandum of Meetings and Presentations.

Skills and Experience

The following skills and experience are mandatory:

  • A Master’s degree in Aerospace, Engineering or a relevant technical domain.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in system engineering activities with demonstrated experience in Galileo.
  • Experience in operations and/or deployment of satellite lifecycle and System Engineering methods and tools.
  • An organised, dynamic and proactive approach to work.
  • Security clearance (EU Secret) will be necessary (therefore only nationals of the EU countries will be considered for this role).
  • Ability to travel on missions when needed to other locations.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
