We are looking for a Galileo Real-Time Operations Engineer to work in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany.

The key individual will provide support to the coordination and daily operations of the Galileo Space Segment.

Tasks and Activities

The scope of work will include:

  • Monitoring GSOp activities related to the Galileo Space Segment:
    • Preparing and participating to Anomaly Review Board (ARBs).
    • Preparing and participating to Change Control Boards (CCBs).
    • Preparing and participating to Non-conformance Review Boards (NRBs).
  • Supporting GCS evolution and deployment activities.
  • Reviewing and assessing the GSOp monthly progress report, including the assessment of the KPIs.
  • Supporting the Incident Management process.
  • Representing our client at the Galileo Control Centre in Oberpfaffenhofen and taking care of the daily interactions with GSOp, especially related to Space Segment.
  • Supporting other operation tasks related to Galileo, when needed, such as:
    • Assessing potential risks affecting Galileo service provision.
    • Supporting various Lessons Learnt.
    • Updating our client operation products (e.g. internal procedures).
  • Contributing to, and providing the technical delivery of, reports related to the management of relevant maintenance contracts, including supporting monitoring activities, reviewing relevant DPs, preparing change requests and evaluating change proposals.
  • Participating in SSEG dedicated activities (e.g. launch, SCTC), including coordinating and reporting as requested.
  • Following-up on the preparation and conduction of LEOP and IOT.

Skills and Experience

The following skills and experience are mandatory:

  • A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Practical experience in performing Spacecraft Operations.
  • Experience in managing a spacecraft constellation.
  • A minimum of six years’ experience in space segment operation.
  • An organized, dynamic and proactive approach to work with good communication and diplomatic skills.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

The following skills would be highly desirable:

  • Experience with, and knowledge of, the Galileo programme.
  • In possession of a security clearance (EU Secret).
